About Greg Strange

It started in 2008. During a trip to purchase a new table saw for my custom home building business I was offered a deal on a lathe that I could not refuse. That Saturday morning purchase revealed a passion that I did not know existed. I made my first bowl later that day and have not looked back since. I get a thrill from searching for wood with unique character and letting mother nature reveal itself as I turn the piece on the lathe.

As a designer of homes during the week, I find it incredibly rewarding to leave precision behind and let each piece evolve as each layer of the wood is revealed. Grain pattern, color, texture, smell, feel…wood offers it all and I hope to turn until my last days on this wonderful planet.

This web site shows some past and current work. I always have a couple hundred pieces on-going at any time. If you’d like to see more, or create something totally unique then lets talk !
